Situated within the University of Stirling, our Research Unit is a hub for mission-oriented research and policy engagement, designed to inform and influence practice at local, national, and international levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SIERU\u2019s mission is to generate and share knowledge concerning innovative ideas, practices, products, or services that aim to improve the well-being and prosperity of individuals and communities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many of these ideas are located or delivered by social economy partners and new, values-led ventures. We support practitioners and policymakers to scale the capacity of these organisations to address the intertwined challenges of inequality, wellbeing, and environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our research is closely aligned with Stirling University\u2019s mission-based approach, guiding our collaborative efforts with researchers, policymakers, and practitioners:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SPACES: Adapting to a Changing World<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We examine how community-led social innovation and entrepreneurship can tackle complex economic, social,&nbsp;technological, and environmental changes. Our work supports the co-creation of policies and practices that promote wellbeing for people, communities, and the environment, and which aim to tackle structural inequalities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our Approach<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SIERU adopts a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and participatory approach. We work closely with academic partners, policymakers, and community stakeholders to co-design, evaluate, and scale social innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives that have real-world impact. We will frequently use an &#8216;ecosystem&#8217; lens to understand the intricate array of actors, policies, and environmental factors necessary for success. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our Impact<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through our research, we aim to inform policy, strengthen local economies, and support the resilience and effectiveness of inclusive, community-driven solutions.
